The appearance of your neck can be noticeably worsened by the presence of loose neck skin and excess pockets of fat. There is also another common issue that is a bit more difficult to treat because it occurs in the muscles of the neck.
This issue is known as vertical neck banding.
You may notice that vertical neck bands will form on the neck when you make certain expressions and that they will disappear once the muscles are at rest. Aging causes these muscles to become loose, making them more prominent even if you are not using them They can give the neck a withered and harsh look that in turn will have a negative impact on your overall appearance.
Vertical neck bands can be treated through surgery. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brent Moelleken can perform a neck lift in order to correct these muscles and remove excess skin and fat from the neck. If you want to rejuvenate your neck, contact our office to schedule a consultation.
