What can Botox treat?
Wrinkles
Before deciding on a wrinkle treatment, it is essential to understand what causes them. Wrinkles (rhytids) are either static (persistent, permanent) or dynamic (expression related). Once Dr. Brent identifies the underlying cause, he will implant the appropriate treatment.
Dynamic Wrinkles
When you are young, your skin springs back to its original position when you finish making the facial expression (at rest). The older you get, the dynamic wrinkles remain on your skin. Dynamic wrinkles are those that are present only with muscle contracture. The tightening of muscles causes dynamic wrinkles. Each muscle contraction causes your skin to constrict, forming lines between the bulk of your muscles. Weakening these muscles will cause a reduction or can even prevent wrinkles from developing.
