Voluma Beverly Hills

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC (VOLUMA) is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that instantly augments and enhances volume in all three regions of the cheek (apex, apple, hollow).

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a powerfully hydrating material responsible for preserving moisture and preventing water loss from the skin. Although HA is produced naturally by the body, our HA levels decrease as we age, causing our skin to become dehydrated and to lose volume and firmness.

Created by Allergan, the manufacturer of popular and effective skin rejuvenation products such as Botox and Latisse, VOLUMA replenishes dwindling HA levels, giving the facial contours a subtle, rejuvenating lift, and restoring a more youthful facial appearance that can last up to two years (periodic maintenance treatments may be necessary to preserve the longevity of your treatment results). As with all JUVÉDERM® brand injectable dermal fillers, VOLUMA is safe and appropriate for use in persons of all ethnicities and races, without risk of hypertrophic scarring or hyperpigmentation. Moreover, because the hyaluronic acid in JUVÉDERM® products is not derived from animals, pre-treatment allergy testing is not required.

Proper administration of dermal fillers requires a high degree of accuracy and precision, which is why it is important to have your VOLUMA injections performed by a trained practitioner with extensive experience in the aesthetic enhancement field. Esteemed plastic surgeon Dr. Brent Moelleken, F.A.C.S, is double board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and one of only three surgeons in the world to complete the year-long Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at UCLA. Along with his well-trained staff at Moelleken Plastic Surgery, with locations in Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara, Dr. Moelleken will listen closely to your needs and develop a customized treatment plan to ensure that you achieve the best possible results from your VOLUMA injections.

VOLUMA PROCEDURE DETAILS

Your VOLUMA treatment will be performed in our office and takes only 15-20 minutes, after which you may return to your normal daily activities; however, you should avoid exposure to sun or heat, strenuous exercise, and consumption of alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours. To ensure your comfort during and after your treatment, VOLUMA is infused with lidocaine, a local anesthetic. Some patients may experience temporary side effects of VOLUMA injections, such as: bruising, tenderness, redness, firmness, swelling, and bumps at the injection sites. These symptoms are generally mild to moderate in nature and will resolve on their own within 7 days.

Complementary skin rejuvenation procedures (ie. laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, microdermabrasion) can be performed along with your VOLUMA injections in order to optimize your results. VOLUMA works especially well when performed in conjunction with Botox® (or Dysport) injections, because each injectable is formulated to treat and correct a different type of wrinkle, and when utilized together, patients can completely rejuvenate their facial appearance.
